My Story.
I See Pixels
" Welcome to the monochrome madness of Kevs Art. I work exclusively in black and white—not because I'm colorblind (though that would be a convenient excuse), but because I've seen enough grey areas in life to know that everything interesting happens in the shadows. "
I grew up on a steady diet of The Dandy, The Beano, and 2000 AD—which explains a lot, really. While other kids were learning to kick footballs, I was studying how Dennis the Menace perfected chaos and how Judge Dredd made grim look good. Those black-and-white pages weren’t just comics to me. They were blueprints.
That obsession with ink and attitude never left. For years I channelled my creativity into building things with my hands—boats, to be precise. Everything from elegant wooden craft to Formula One race boats. If it floated and looked dangerous, I probably had a hand in it. There’s something deeply satisfying about shaping chaos into something that moves. These days I do the same thing on paper, except the boats are less likely to sink.
I don’t paint pretty pictures. I burn emotion into paper. Charcoal, ink, airbrush—whatever gets the darkness out of my head and onto the page. Art started as a release valve for stress and emotion, and it turns out screaming silently in monochrome is surprisingly therapeutic. The smudges aren’t mistakes. They’re evidence.
Nothing captures raw feeling like charcoal. It’s messy, unpredictable, and utterly unforgiving—rather like life. You can’t fake emotion with a stick of burnt wood. Either it’s real, or it’s just grey dust.
So here we are. Kevs Art. No colour. No compromises. Just shadows, stories, and the occasional piece that’ll make you pause in a quiet room and wonder what you’ve just felt.
Welcome to my dark side. It’s been expecting you.
